Congress MLA Rajendra Kumar Singh has sparked a controversy with his remarks on saints, likening them to “bulls" left by the BJP to propagate the party’s message and Hindutva among masses.
His remarks came addressing party workers at the Congress workers’ conference in Satna on Wednesday in the presence of the party’s state chief Jitu Patwari. The BJP hit back at the statement, calling it “cheap anti-Hindu mentality".
Singh slammed the idea of India as a “Hindu nation" and said that the seed “planted by Golwalkar and Syama Prasad Mookerjee" has not turned into a tree.
He roped in Ram Mandir and Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj to attack the BJP, stating that the party has “left these saints to talk about Hindutva".

“The seeds planted by Golwalkar and Syama Prasad Mookerjee for creating a Hindu nation based on religion have today sprouted and turned into a plant, and then a tree. The coincidence is that with the Ram Mandir and Maha Kumbh, the BJP has left saints, sadhus, sanyasis, Baba Bairagi, and Mahamandaleshwar among the people, saying — ‘Go, talk about Hindutva, promote the BJP, speak about Sanatan,’ and these bulls are grazing in others’ fields," he said.
BJP Slams Remark
BJP leader Amit Malviya shared the video of the remarks on X and termed it “cheap anti-Hindu mentality".
“The Congress’s cheap anti-Hindu mentality has crossed all limits," he wrote.
