'Crossed All Red Lines': Israel After Flash Bombs Fired At Netanyahu's Home

Two flash bombs were fired towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home in the northern town of Caesarea on Saturday, an incident that the Defense Minister said had “crossed all red lines."

Netanyahu and his family were not present and no damage was reported after the flash bomb fell into the garden of Netanyahu’s home, the police added in a statement.

Affirming that the incident crossed “all red lines," Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz added that Iran and its proxies are attempting to harm the Israeli PM.

“It is not possible for the Prime Minister of Israel, who is threatened by Iran and its proxies who are trying to assassinate him, to be subject to the same threats from home," Katz said.

The Israeli agencies have launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain who was behind the attack, said sources, adding that there was no immediate claim of responsibility for Saturday’s incident.

The incident comes a month after a drone attack targeting the same residence was reported, which was later claimed by Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

During the time, Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of attempting to assassinate him and his wife.

Israel President Condemns Incident

Israel’s President Isaac Herzog condemned the incident in a post on X and said an investigation was underway.

“I have now spoken with the head of the Shin Bet and expressed the urgent need to investigate and deal with those responsible for the incident as soon as possible," Herzog said in a post on X.

Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said, “The incitement against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu crosses all boundaries. Throwing a flash bomb into his house tonight is crossing another red line."

Since September last year, Israeli forces have been trading fire with Lebanon’s armed Hezbollah group, also sending in ground troops after almost a year of limited, cross-border exchanges of fire begun by Hezbollah militants over the war in Gaza.
