Delhi Assembly Election 2025: The national capital will go to polls exactly one week from now. The war of words between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has escalated after former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal made bombshell allegations regarding the ‘poisoning’ of Yamuna River.
The AAP accused the BJP-led Haryana government of poisoning the water of Yamuna which is being supplied to the national capital. Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of causing harm to people by mixing poison in the water, sparking furious responses from the BJP and Congress.
During a ‘Sankalp Rally’ in Kartar Nagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at AAP and Kejriwal, saying the Yamuna River water was consumed by judges, diplomats as well as poor. The PM asserted that the false excuses of ‘AAP-Da’ will not work and the upcoming elections will pave the way for BJP’s double-engine government.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal over his remarks regarding the “poisoning” of the Yamuna river and asked him to provide factual evidence of his allegations by 8 pm today.
