Afghan journalist Nazira Karimi asked Donald Trump about his plans for Afghanistan and whether he would recognise the Taliban government.

US President Donald Trump’s response to a question by an Afghanistani reporter was widely shared on social media. The reporter asked the US President about the country’s ongoing struggles and the role of the Taliban in the same. But Donald Trump said that he could not understand her.
Afghan journalist Nazira Karimi asked Donald Trump about his plans for Afghanistan and whether he would recognise the Taliban government.
She asked, “You have any plan to change Afghanistan’s situation? Are you able to recognize the Taliban?" Quipping at the question, Donald Trump said, “It’s a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent. The only problem is I can’t understand a word you’re saying, but… Good luck. Live in peace."

The Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan came after the US’ chaotic withdrawal in 2021 which was labelled by Donald as “the most embarrassing day" in the country’s history.
Earlier, Donald Trump suggested that the US could take control of Gaza and relocate Palestinians to other countries.
He said, “The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too. We’ll make sure that it’s done world-class. It’ll be wonderful for the people — Palestinians, Palestinians mostly, we’re talking about."
