Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav has once again stirred political chatter in Bihar with his recent remarks, including controversial references likening some to “Jaichand" — a historical figure often associated with betrayal.
Jaichand, a 12th-century ruler from the Gahadavala dynasty, is historically remembered for his rivalry with Prithviraj Chauhan. In the epic poem Prithviraj Raso, he is depicted as a betrayer who sided with invading forces against Prithviraj, earning a lasting reputation as a symbol of treachery.
Despite being expelled by both his party and family following his controversial Facebook post which has now been deleted, Tej Pratap remains a subject of public and political attention. Tej Pratap‘s deep emotional connection with his family, especially with his father Lalu Prasad Yadav and brother Tejashwi Yadav, continues to be evident in his social media posts.
In an emotional message shared on X, Tej Pratap expressed that his parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, are his “whole world". He subtly criticised some party members, accusing them of betrayal and trying to disrupt the family’s unity.
“My dear mom and dad. My whole world is just you two. You and any order given by you are greater than God. If you are there, then I have everything. I just need your trust and love and nothing else," Tej Pratap Yadav said in a post on X.

“Papa, if you were not there, then this party would not have been there and neither would greedy people like Jaichand who do politics with me. Just mummy papa, may you both always be healthy and happy," he added.
Political commentators say speculation is mounting over Tej Pratap Yadav’s next move following his expulsion, as he has yet to disclose his future plans.
Meanwhile, some observers view Lalu Prasad Yadav’s actions with suspicion, suggesting they could be part of a larger electoral strategy. Political commentators believe Lalu’s earlier public display of affection for Tej Pratap has cast doubt on the seriousness of the expulsion.

He once described Tej Pratap as having a distinct charisma and passion, often acknowledging his unconventional behaviour through mythological references. These contradictory statements and actions have led many to believe that the expulsion may be more symbolic than punitive.
In another X post, Tej Pratap assured his brother Tejashwi of his unwavering support despite the physical distance between them, and vowed to expose any conspiracies targeting them.

Tej Pratap also congratulated Tejashwi Yadav on the birth of his son last week.
Tej Pratap’s ex-wife, Aishwarya Rai, has also weighed in, dismissing the expulsion as a staged drama. She questioned the authenticity of the family’s actions, alleging that they were always aware of Tej Pratap’s long-standing relationship but chose to shield him while she was unfairly blamed.
Tej Pratap, known for his dramatic flair and fondness for controversy, shared a photo with Anushka Yadav — a woman previously linked to him and referred to as a ‘close friend’ within family circles, though never publicly confirmed.
Recently, Tej Pratap made a bold claim on Facebook that they had been in a “relationship for 12 years", a period that also encompasses the time he was married.
This revelation not only sparked a social media frenzy but also led to a significant family upheaval, resulting in Tej Pratap’s six-year political exile. Meanwhile, Tej Pratap claimed that his social media accounts were hacked and his pictures were “wrongly edited" to defame him and his family.
