According to the Israeli military, Sakafi was a senior Hezbollah operative who had led the communications unit since 2000

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday announced that they had killed Mohammad Rashid Sakafi, the head of Hezbollah’s communication networks, in an airstrike in Beirut on Thursday.

“Mohammad Rashid Sakafi, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Communications Unit, was killed during a precise, intelligence-based strike in Beirut yesterday,” the IDF stated in a post on X.

According to the Israeli military, Sakafi was a senior Hezbollah operative who had led the communications unit since 2000. He had made significant efforts to enhance communication capabilities among all of Hezbollah’s units.
