 CEE Kerala releases list of documents required to apply online

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has announced that the registration process for the Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM) 2026 will begin soon.

Ahead of the application window, CEE Kerala has released an official notice asking candidates to keep all required certificates ready for uploading during the online application process.According to the notice, candidates who wish to claim reservation benefits, fee concession, or category-based relaxation must upload valid and relevant certificates along with the KEAM 2026 application form.

Certificates required for reservation and fee concession

These certificates must be obtained in advance from the concerned revenue authorities.

Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and Other Eligible Communities (OEC) must obtain a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for state educational purposes from the Village Officer. Certificates issued for employment or central education purposes will not be accepted.Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates must submit a caste certificate issued by the Tahsildar. OEC candidates who are not included under the Non-Creamy Layer category must provide a community certificate from the Village Officer.For candidates seeking fee concession or scholarship based on annual family income, an income certificate issued by the Village Officer is required. However, this is not applicable to SC, ST, and OEC candidates.Candidates belonging to communities eligible for educational concession, must submit the relevant Non-Creamy Layer, caste, and income certificates.Children of inter-caste married couples must submit the applicable Non-Creamy Layer Certificate or inter-caste marriage certificate, depending on whether the parents belong to SEBC, OEC, SC, or ST categories.A nativity certificate from the Village Officer is required only if the candidate’s native place is not mentioned in school or birth records.Candidates applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in the general quota must submit an EWS certificate issued by the Village Officer.For minority community seats in self-financing medical and dental colleges, a community certificate from the Village Officer is required for candidates not included under the Non-Creamy Layer category.

Documents required for NRI quota seats

Separate guidelines have also been issued for candidates seeking admission under the NRI quota.

Candidates applying under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota must submit documents related to their sponsor. These include a passport copy and visa attested by the Indian Embassy, Green Card, or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) documents of the sponsor. The sponsor’s job details and visa validity must be clearly mentioned.If employment details are not included in the visa or passport documents, an employment certificate attested by the Embassy or Consulate authorities must be submitted.A relationship certificate issued by revenue authorities is mandatory to establish the relationship between the sponsor and the candidate. If the sponsor is the father or mother, educational certificates mentioning the sponsor’s name will also be accepted.Candidates must also submit a sworn affidavit from the sponsor on stamp paper worth ₹200, notarised by a Notary Public, stating that the student is dependent on the sponsor and that all course-related expenses will be borne by them.The sponsor must be an Indian citizen, Overseas Citizen of India, or Person of Indian Origin, and supporting documents must be provided. In cases where a valid visa is not available, documents such as Civil ID, Resident Permit, IQAMA, Electronic Visa, Employment Pass, or Entry Visa will be accepted, subject to conditions mentioned in the notification.

Note: CEE Kerala has advised candidates to carefully ensure that all certificates are valid and issued for state educational purposes, as incorrect or invalid documents may lead to rejection of claims during KEAM 2026 admission.Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for updates on KEAM 2026 registration dates and detailed instructions.
