UP Police Recruitment 2026 underway for constable and jail warder posts, know eligibility, vacancies and selection process
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has commenced the application process for UP Police Recruitment 2026, inviting eligible candidates to apply for constable and equivalent posts across multiple cadres.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 32,679 vacancies in the state police, including Constable Civil Police, PAC, Special Security Force, Women Battalion, Jail Warder and Mounted Police.The online application link has been activated on the official website, uppbpb.gov.in, and candidates who have passed Class 12 are eligible to submit their forms. The most jobs have been posted for SSC Constable PAC, followed by SSC Constable Civil Police.

Eligibility criteria and age limitApplicants must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 (Intermediate). Male candidates should be between 18 and 25 years of age, while female candidates should be between 18 and 28 years.
Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved categories and special category candidates as per government rules.

Selection process and salaryThe selection process includes an online written examination, followed by document verification, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test and a medical examination. The written exam will comprise 150 objective-type questions worth 300 marks and lasting 150 minutes with a penalty of 0.25 for every incorrect response.The selected candidates will be in the pay scale of Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100, along with a grade pay of Rs. 2,000. The maximum estimated gross salary in a month will range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000, along with other allowances such as HRA, DA, and TA.
Application process and feesThe application process for the posts will be conducted solely via the official website. The application form will have to be submitted, documents uploaded, and the application fee paid. The application fee amount depends on the category, with general, OBC, and EWS categories having an application fee of Rs 500. SC, ST, and female candidates will have to pay only Rs 400.Applicants are advised to carefully read the official notification before submitting the application form.
