After facing repeated delays, NASA has finally announced that Indian Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will fly to space on Wednesday, June 25. Axiom Space is preparing for its fourth private mission, known as Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), to the Space Station.

The launch is planned from Florida using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The mission is set to send four astronauts into orbit for scientific research.

Who Are The 4 Astronauts?

The team of four astronauts is likely to spend up to 14 days at the Space Station. During this time, the astronauts will conduct around 60 science experiments, designed for research in microgravity.

The four astronauts part of the Axiom-4 mission include Commander Peggy Whitson, a former NASA astronaut. She is joined by Shubhanshu Shukla from India, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski from Poland, and Tibor Kapu from Hungary.

After several dealys, NASA for the sixth time announced a new date for the mission. NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX are now targeting 12.01 pm (India Time), Wednesday, June 25, for launch of the fourth private astronaut mission to the Space Station, Axiom Mission 4.

The launch was initially scheduled for May 29, however, it faced several delays due to various technical reasons. These included poor weather, problems with the Falcon 9 rocket, and a leak on the Space Station.
