Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu will be travelling to India on a state visit on October 6-10. This will be his second visit to New Delhi in four months.
This will be the first bilateral visit of Muizzu to India. He had earlier visited New Delhi in June 2024 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that during his visit, Muizzu will meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with PM Modi on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
Muizzu will also visit Mumbai and Bengaluru, where he will be attending business events, the statement read.
"Maldives is India's key maritime neighbour in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and holds a special place in Prime Minister's vision of ‘SAGAR’ (Security and Growth for All in the Region) and India’s ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’," the Ministry statement read.
