March Madness 2025 kicks off March 16 with Selection Sunday. Auburn leads men's tournament favourites, while South Carolina and UConn headline the women's. The Final Four takes place April 5-7 in San Antonio and Tampa.

March Madness 2025 is set to begin in two weeks. Selection Sunday, scheduled for March 16, will reveal the 68-team bracket for the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments. Fans will finally find out which teams will be competing and where they’ll play during the first two rounds.
The first four games will take place on March 18 at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. From there, the tournament will move quickly through the First and Second Rounds (March 20-23) at various locations across the country. The Sweet 16 and Elite Eight will take place from March 27-30, leading up to the Final Four in San Antonio on April 5. The championship game will follow on April 7.
For the women’s tournament, the First Four starts on March 20, with games leading up to the Final Four in Tampa, Florida, on April 5. The women’s championship game will take place in April at Amalie Arena.
Who are favourites for 2025 NCAA tournaments?
Men’s Tournament:
Sportsbooks have already identified the top contenders for the Men’s Final Four. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the favourites to reach the Final Four are:
Auburn (-135) (No. 1 seed) Duke (-120) (No. 2 seed) Florida (+165) (No. 3 seed) Houston (+150) (No. 4 seed)Auburn is currently the top favourite to win the championship after receiving 60 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 poll and 28 first-place votes in the Coaches’ Poll. However, defending champions UConn, who have won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, are still in the mix with +1900 odds to reach the Final Four.
Women’s tournament favourites
On the women’s side, two team’s standouts:
South Carolina (+300) UConn (+300)The South Carolina Gamecocks are the defending champions and also won in 2022. However, the Gamecocks' dominance has declined in recent years. UCLA, Notre Dame, and Texas are the next top contenders.
