US President Donald Trump’s pick for Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel appeared before a Senate Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearing last week, accompanied by his parents and sister.
Among his supporters during his hearing was Alina Habba, Trump’s lawyer turned top advisor and US Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions Ric Grenell. However, a mystery glamourous woman sitting just behind Patel has grabbed the spotlight.
That someone is country music artist Alexis Wilkins, 26, who has been revealed as his girlfriend, according to Daily Mail. Not only is Wilkins a rising star in the genre of country music, she is also politically active and has accepted the role of press secretary for Republican US Rep. from Arizona Abe Hamadeh – making her and Patel a conservative power couple.
An insider told the Daily Mail that the couple met at a conservative ReAwaken America event in October 2022 and started dating a few months later. While Patel, 44, has never married, the couple appear serious about their relationship after dating for over two years.
Who Is Alexis Wilkins?
Wilkins was born on November 3, 1999, and spent her childhood across England and Switzerland before settling in Arkansas, US. She moved to Nashville, which is known as the heartland of country music and developed her niche in the same genre – writing her first song at a mere age of 8.
Wilkins is a graduate of Belmont University and received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Political Science and Governance in 2020 from there. She also won the
prestigious Williams Murray Writing Award at Belmont, showing her storytelling talent besides music.
While she was preparing for her graduation, Wilkins dropped her debut single Holdin’ On in 2020. Her debut EP ‘Grit’ climbed to the Number 4 spot on iTunes, and her song Country Back was placed second on the iTunes Country Chart. She has also opened for God Bless The USA singer Lee Greenwood, one of Trump’s favourites.
Wilkins has also opened for other well-known singing legends like Joe Nichols, Aaron Lewis, Curtis Grimes and RaeLynn. She works with Warrior Rounds, a group that writes songs with veterans to benefit the community. She has also performed for patients at Veterans Affairs hospitals. She has over a million streams across online platforms.
Wilkins’ Political Life
The country singer also rose to prominence among conservative circles in recent years. She spoke at Young America’s Foundation (YAF) events as well as at the Reagan Ranch in California, a key conservative hub in America. She also works with the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
Wilkins is also a speaker and media personality for the conservative PragerU and has a podcast called Between the Headlines on the Rumble video-sharing website. She is also a part of the Rifle Association country programme.
Despite her new life as press secretary in Arizona, Wilkins plans to travel between Washington DC and Nashville, while also maintaining her status as a country music star in the city.
Who Is Kash Patel?
Kash Patel, a staunch Trump loyalist, has a background in both defence and intelligence. Born in 1980 in Garden City, New York, to Gujarati Indian immigrant parents, Patel’s career has been closely tied to Trump’s political rise.
Before being nominated to lead the FBI, railed against the bureau over its investigations into the president and claimed that Jan. 6 rioters were mistreated by the Justice Department.
Patel gained national attention for his role in the committee’s investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. He was instrumental in drafting the controversial “Nunes Memo," which accused the FBI of abusing surveillance powers in its investigation into the Trump campaign.
