OnePlus is seriously acting on the major green line display issues and has announced a lifetime warranty for any OnePlus model facing the display problem. “Whether users own an older model or are considering the latest releases, they can rest assured that their investment is protected from display issues," the company said.
The AMOLED display on OnePlus phones has been riddled with a green line issue which tends to show up after a new update is installed by the user. OnePlus says that it is working to make the issue go away for good but those affected by it can get a replacement unit from its service centre.
OnePlus Green Line Issue: What Causes It
We have mostly heard the news about the green line issue with OnePlus phones so far but now the company is finally giving us some clues about the reason for this issue. It seems that OnePlus phones are facing the green line problem because of the climate challenge posed by high temperatures and humidity in India.
We’re not exactly sure why only the AMOLED panels are facing the issue but the brand is keen to stress that its new form of rigorous tests will ensure that such problems don’t arise in the future. We’re hoping that such measures can help fix the issue, even if the brand is offering lifetime warranty on all its models.
Most of the green line issues with OnePlus phones have been reported with models like the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 11. The fact that we haven’t heard much about the OnePlus 12 facing the issue augurs well for the upcoming OnePlus 13 launch next month.
Promises To Fix The Green Line Problem: Here’s How
In addition to offering support for its existing users, OnePlus is also working on a fix for this issue. “With the PVX Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer as a key component of our Green Line Worry-Free Solution, we are committed to delivering a superior display experience that stands the test of time," OnePlus mentioned in its post.
The company is integrating an enhanced edge bonding layer to the AMOLED panels on its phones, which is claimed to slow down the moisture and oxygen penetration over time, which it says will increase the lifespan of the display.
OnePlus was beginning to lose ground in the market and its position in the offline space in India has also taken a hit due to various reasons. These new changes should help the company bring more people to buy its products and also get the right support.
