GPT 4.5 is the new AI model from OpenAI that promises deeper intelligence and a emotional touch that makes you feel like talking to a person.
The new GPT 4.5 model does not get a Plus and Pro version, Altman explains why
OpenAI has announced its biggest AI model to date called the GPT 4.5 which has been trained using the most-powerful computing system available to the industry. The company will be powering the next ChatGPT version with the AI model in the coming weeks and make it available to the paid OpenAI subscribers from this week onwards. OpenAI claims GPT 4.5 has a deeper world knowledge and higher emotional intelligence, which takes it one step closer to the dream of AGI becoming a reality.
GPT 4.5 AI Model: Powerful And Expensive
The GPT 4.5 model has been trained using advanced computing power, which OpenAI says is costly to run, and much more power-intensive compared to GPT 4o. The new AI model codenamed Orion, does not support the two-way voice mode for now, but it can help you upload files and images. The benchmark scores also suggest OpenAI has its most-powerful AI model out this week, and better performing with other reasoning AI models like GPT 4o, o1 and the o3-mini from the company.
Sam Altman has praised the ability of GPT 4.5 and he says, it is the first model that feels like talking to a thoughtful person. However, Altman pointed out the bad news in the same instance, highlighting the need to buy more GPUs to keep 4.5 running in the long run without bringing a Plus and Pro version.
And yes, Altman admits that GPT 4.5 is not going to show its worth in benchmarks which has become evident in the last 12 hours, but he talks about a different kind of intelligence from the new AI model.
His post clearly shows you both sides of the AI coin, wherein, the more powerful the AI model becomes, the more power (via GPU) it needs, and any shortage could be damaging for its future. We have already seen the older AI models hallucinating stories and sharing fake news, which has been observed via a study earlier this year.
