Oppo's Find X6 and X7 didn't launch in the country but that could change
Oppo has decided against launching its premium flagship model in the country for the past few years but 2024 could be different.
Oppo appears to be gearing up for the launch of its Find X8 series in the Indian and global markets. The company is expected to roll out two models in the series, including the Oppo Find X8 and Oppo Find X8 Pro, with the base model recently receiving certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The launch would be the company’s return to the Indian flagship market after a four-year hiatus.
While the launch date and pricing details remain under wraps by the company, an Oppo executive teased live images of the handset on Weibo. The user also revealed some insights about the upcoming Oppo Find X8.
As per the images, the Find X8 will feature a flat screen with minimal bezels, a metal frame, and an overall slimmer and lighter build compared to its predecessor. Moreover, the phone is likely to support 50W wireless magnetic charging and will come with a compatible case in the box.
Apart from these leaked images, the upcoming smartphone has also shown up on some certification websites, hinting at an imminent launch in various countries. It is worth noting that the Oppo Find X8 series is all set to be launched in its home market later this month.
According to Gadgets 360, the Oppo Find X8 Pro was listed on India’s BIS certification website with the model number CPH2659, while the Oppo Find X8 is said to be listed with the model number CPH2651. Meanwhile, the Find X8 was also certified by SDPPI in Indonesia, pointing to an expected launch there too after the China launch.
Oppo Find X8 Series: What To Expect
The tech giant is likely to announce three flagship camera-centric devices this year. Unlike last year, this lineup is expected to feature the Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and a top-end Find X8 Ultra.
The Oppo Find X8 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset that is going to be official in the coming days. Both smartphones could have a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The device is rumoured to sport a 5,700 mAh battery, support 80W wired charging, and up to 16 GB of RAM. Both models are expected to be equipped with IP69-rated water and dust resistance. Other rumoured features of the smartphone are a OnePlus-style alert slider and Bluetooth connectivity.
