Sources suggest that these measures are in response to concerns over a possible pre-emptive strike or other forms of retaliation from India, given the terror attack in Delhi

Pakistan has raised its security alert to unprecedented levels in the wake of the deadly car explosion outside Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station, which claimed at least eight lives on Monday. The country has issued a Red Alert for all of its airbases and airfields, following intelligence warnings that suggest heightened risks of retaliatory actions or further cross-border escalation from India, CNN-News18 has learnt.
Sources said Pakistan’s armed forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, have been placed on high alert as the situation remains volatile. Pakistan’s Central Command has directed all military branches to closely monitor developments and prepare for any eventualities.
In addition to activating air defence systems, the Pakistan Air Force has been ordered to ensure that jets from forward bases are ready for immediate takeoff. Sources suggest that these measures are in response to concerns over a possible pre-emptive strike or other forms of retaliation from India, particularly given the recent terror plot in Delhi.
Sources also confirmed that Pakistan has taken specific precautionary measures to protect its air assets, ensuring that military jets and critical installations are shielded from any potential attacks. Pakistan’s Air Defence Systems are now active, closely monitoring the airspace along the Pakistan-India border. Furthermore, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued from November 11 to November 12, signaling increased air traffic restrictions and security protocols along the tense border region.
The Delhi blast, which has been linked to a wider terrorist plot involving radicalisation and the seizure of large quantities of explosives, has put India on high alert, and Pakistan’s swift response is indicative of the rising concerns over cross-border threats.
