The Congress continues to question the integrity of the electoral process, while the BJP maintains that the results reflect voters’ trust.

As trends pointed to a sweeping victory for the Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, the Congress, a key constituent of the Opposition Mahagathbandhan, shifted its criticism toward the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Congress accuses EC of bias
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera sharply remarked that the real contest in Bihar was “between the ECI and the people of Bihar," alleging that the electoral process had been compromised.
Commenting on the early leads favouring the NDA, Khera said, “Going by the early trends, it seems Gyanesh Kumar is outweighing the people of Bihar." He added that despite issues such as SIR and what he termed “vote chori," the people of Bihar had displayed “great courage."
He went a step further, suggesting that senior election official Gyanesh Kumar was “writing a book for Prime Minister Modi," accusing of political bias.
“There was a book called ‘To Serve with Love.’ Gyanesh Kumar Gupta is writing this book for PM Modi," said Khera.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh declared that the triumph belongs to the BJP and predicted the party’s next win in Bengal.
“Those who understand Bihar know that the people of Bihar do not want ‘jungle raj’ (lawlessness). Bihar’s people do not want anarchy, nor do they want to hand over power to corrupt leaders," the Union Minister said.
Rahul Gandhi ‘vote chori’ claim
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been consistently alleging large-scale electoral manipulation by the BJP and the Election Commission. Over the past months, he has accused the ruling party of orchestrating “vote chori" in several states, including Haryana and Bihar.
Rahul Gandhi has claimed that the electoral system is being undermined through systematic fraud, weakening public trust in democratic processes. His remarks come at a time when the NDA appears set for a decisive victory in Bihar, placing the Mahagathbandhan on the back foot.
With results solidifying the NDA’s lead, the Opposition’s rhetoric has grown sharper. The Congress continues to question the integrity of the electoral process, while the BJP maintains that the results reflect voters’ trust.
As counting progresses, the war of words between the ruling alliance and the Opposition is expected to intensify, raising the political temperature across Bihar.
