In a striking gesture, Russian President Vladimir Putin Russian President Vladimir Putin invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" during a state banquet hosted in his honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday.
The Russian leader, while addressing dignitaries at the dinner table, said, “I know that in India you say, go together, grow together. These words truly reflect the nature and the character of the Russian-Indian relations. And we will do everything to make sure our strategic partnership grows and develops for the good of all our people."
Putin also reflected on the long arc of Indo-Russian cooperation saying that a declaration signed 15 years ago elevated the Indo-Russia relations to a new level—the level of the specially privileged strategic partnership.
“This partnership is developing based on the principles of equality, respect and mutual consideration of our interests. It is getting substantiated even more. Our talks with our Indian friends yesterday and today were genuinely open and constructive," he said
“The declaration that we have adopted encompasses a wide range of cooperation across different spheres, including politics, security, the economy and trade, energy, education, and other areas. I am sure that this declaration, along with the other documents, will give a strong push to the development of our bilateral relations," Putin added.
The dinner, hosted by President Droupadi Murmu, followed the ceremonial welcome and marked one of the key formal events of Putin’s two-day visit to India.
Putin’s Visit To India

He was personally received at Palam airport by PM Modi, who welcomed him with a hug before the two leaders travelled together to the Prime Minister’s residence on Thursday.
During the bilateral meeting, energy cooperation featured prominently in the talks, with Putin saying Russia was ready to continue “uninterrupted shipments" of fuel to India and describing Moscow as a reliable supplier of oil, gas and coal.
PM Modi thanked Putin for his “unwavering commitment towards India" and noted that energy security remains a key pillar of bilateral ties.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine. Putin said he briefed PM Modi on developments and ongoing efforts involving several countries, including the United States, for a possible peaceful settlement. PM Modi reiterated that India continues to advocate peace and dialogue on the issue.
