Calling Khan "one of the worst mayors in the world," Trump accused him of failing on immigration, crime and public safety, and said London had become plagued by "stabbings, dirt and filth."

US President Donald Trump has said he personally asked that London Mayor Sadiq Khan not be invited to the royal banquet during his ongoing state visit to the UK.
“Well, I didn’t want him there. I asked that he not be there,” Trump told reporters when asked about Khan’s absence. Calling Khan “among the worst mayors in the world” and “the equivalent of the Mayor of Chicago,” Trump accused him of doing a “terrible job” on issues like immigration, crime and public safety.
“I have a certain pride in London and the UK – my mother was born in Scotland. And when I see Mayor Khan doing a bad job – the stabbings, the dirt, the filth – it’s not the same. No, I didn’t want him there,” he said.
Trump and Khan have repeatedly clashed in recent years, with the London Mayor criticising Trump’s immigration policies and rhetoric, and Trump responding with personal attacks.
