The Special Edition of the Galaxy Fold 6 series is getting a limited launch
Samsung has launched a new variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 which now gets more memory to run AI features and a bigger wide camera
Samsung has unveiled its new version of the Galaxy Fold 6 series which is claimed to be thinner but won’t be available in all regions. We have been hearing about a new slim Galaxy Fold 6 model which has been announced officially in South Korea and is unlikely to hit countries like India.
The Galaxy Fold 6 Special Edition has some changes, hardware upgrades which has bumped up the price tag further.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 Special Edition: What’s Special About It
The Galaxy Fold 6 Special Edition comes for $2,000 (Rs 1.78 lakh approx) making it the most-expensive Samsung device in the market. So, what does this price tag get you with the special edition? Samsung says the SE model weighs 236 grams which is marginally lighter than the regular Fold 6 and now measures at 10.6mm which makes it 1.5mm thinner.
The SE version gets 16GB RAM as the standard option which means the Galaxy AI features will work faster and wide sensor has been upgraded from 50MP to 200MP for the model.
The chipset is still the same but you get 8-inch and 6.5-inches inner and cover display which is a noticeable increase on the screen sizes from the regular model. Samsung will surely sell this variant in South Korea but it is expected to be launched in China where the foldables are hot in demand. Other countries, including the US, might be some of the big regions missing from the list.
The Galaxy Fold Z 6 was a definite improvement on the previous foldable from Samsung but it feels like the SE version should have been the actual product that got a global release this year. We’re hoping that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 model offers a lot more in terms of the design changes and more focus on making a functional foldable for the market.
