Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The three-day streak of lower highs needs to end with the bulls aiming to cross and sustain above Monday's high of 24,117. The index to watch though today, is the Nifty Bank. After CAS on Monday, the index saw a sharp 600-point jump, closing above the 58,000 mark, while it was languishing below the 57,500 mark at 3:15 PM.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today is the weekly options expiry of the Nifty 50 contracts and also the start of a new month. September has not had any decisive trend for the index as the last 10 years have seen an equal split between positive and negative returns.
Yet, four out of the last five years have been positive, with the average return ranging between 1.5% to 2%. 24,000 continues to remain the most important level to defend for the bulls, which they managed to do so on Monday as well.

In case the index does sustain above 58,000, it will be viewed positively. Keep an eye on Auto stocks ahead of the sales numbers, EPL for its block deal, and Happiest Minds for the acquisition announced. Sun Pharma will also be watch out for.
