Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are moving with caution in today's trade as it kick starts the September series. The Nifty is trading largely flat with negative bias, trading around 24,300. The Nifty Bank is trying to hold one end, making gains of over 300 points. Kotak Bank, Ultratech and HDFC Life are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Caution seems to be the word of the street today, as the bulls' aim of holding the gains from the monthly expiry seems to have been hit by resistance of the Nifty 50 index at the 24,300 mark. The Sensex is looking to hold one end ahead of its expiry tomorrow. The index is up over 150 points.
Cyient and Capri Global are the top gainers on the Nifty 500 with gains in excess of 5%.
The Nifty Bank is the silver lining of the day, which has been lacklustre so far. The banking index is up over 400 points, or nearly a percentage point.
Meanwhile, oil is a factor that is more of an impetus than an impediment to surge in markets now, as Brent is slipping below the crucial mark of $87 per barrel.
And as we go into this new series, some of the stocks to watch out for the day include Cipla, Varun Beverages, Billionbrains Garage, Hindustan Copper, United Breweries, REC, among others.
