Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The GIFT is trading with a major discount, indicating a gap down beginning in the Indian markets in the new month. The Nifty heads into the new F&O series on the final trading day of what has been another forgettable week for the bulls.
The GIFT Nifty, an early indicator of how the markets are likely to begin trading, is indicating yet another gap-down start for the Sensex and Nifty, which may turn out to be the fifth consecutive week of losses for the index. However, the bulls would be hopeful that the index showcases similar resilience as it did during the monthly expiry session.
The FII long ratio is currently at 10%, which is the lowest since April 2023. That, in previous instances, has turned out to be a boon for the index. Earnings reactions continue from stocks like Coal India, City Union Bank, PB Fintech, among others.
ITC is among the major earnings for the day. Also watch for textile names like Gokaldas Exports, Pearl Global, and peers, as the US has reduced the levy on Bangladesh to 20% from 35% earlier while announcing reciprocal tariffs.
