Stock Market Live Updates: The markets, after scaling major heights, have exhibited volatility, with the Nifty swinging between 25,100 and 25,300. Earlier, the Nifty 50 index surged by about 300 points, going past the 25,250 mark for the first time in nearly 8 months, after October 2024. The Sensex index surged by over 1,000 points as well.

The Nifty Bank also reached new heights. The defence stocks that have excelled in the recent past are struggling today, after Donald Trump's announcement. The shares of Bharat Dynamics, BEL, Garden Shipyard, Cochin Shipyard are all trading with cuts.

The Indian indices opened with gains on Tuesday. While the gains were lower than the indications from GIFT Nifty, the indices soon surged.

The Nifty 50 index scaled its 2025 high in the early hours of the day's trade. The Sensex index is also trading with gains of about 800 points.

This comes after the Nifty declined in four out of the last five trading sessions.

Since the war broke out, the Nifty had struggled to cross its June 11 high of 25,222 as the potential threat of a rise in oil prices continued to keep a lid on bullish sentiments. However, the ceasefire meant that oil prices sank, with WTI down to $65 and Brent too, falling back to $70 per barrel, a positive for India's net oil-importing economy.

With focus back to business, the broader markets will have the spotlight again as they have been outperformers, even in Monday's wobbly market, where the Nifty fell 150 points to close below the 25,000 mark.
