With tech titan Elon Musk and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy set to be part of the Donald Trump administration, Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas expressed hope for a streamlined immigration process and proposed an app-based service for a faster turnaround time. The Indian-origin CEO had earlier recounted his three-year wait for a green card.

Srinivas also suggested a higher application fee in exchange for high quality fast service. A green card allows a person to live and work in the United States permanently.

"Excited for Elon (Musk) and Vivek (Ramaswamy) to make legal immigration better. I would even push for a higher application fee (eg 2x) in exchange for high quality fast service. Think about immigration to America as you investing in the country," Srinivas tweeted.

"It should be as simple as you uploading documents from a mobile app, Apple Pay, interview scheduled in a week, and results arriving to you in a month," he proposed.

On Wednesday, President-elect Trump announced that Musk would work with Vivek Ramaswamy in a "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) tasked with cutting down wasteful expenditures. However, the department will not be a part of the government.
