Son of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist and 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Hafiz Talha Saeed, gave a provocative speech while speaking at a rally organised to mark the so-called ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ of Pakistan in Lahore.
Speaking at the rally on Wednesday, Saeed demanded that his father Hafiz Muhammad Saeed be released and promised the people to “liberate Kashmir from India at any cost", as reported by India Today.
“I want to warn Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Kashmir belongs to Muslims, and we will take Kashmir from you. It will be a part of Pakistan Muslim India soon," Talha further said.
Talha said that LeT has been identified as a terrorist organisation globally which is wrong and called it the propaganda of PM Modi to malign his terrorist father.
Talha said that the government of Pakistan should review its policy and release Hafiz Saeed from jail soon.
“Hafiz Saeed is not guilty; why is he suffering in jail?" said Talha, while trying to justify his father’s actions.
Hafiz Saeed: Mastermind Of 26/11 Mumbai Attacks
Founder of LeT and Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Saeed is known to be the mastermind of various terror attacks against India, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
In various terror financing cases, Pakistan sentenced Hafiz Saeed to 78 years of imprisonment and also pronounced an additional 31 years of jail in 2022.
The United States in 2012 announced a $10 million bounty for any kind of information which led to the arrest of Saeed.
The LeT and JuD have been designated as terrorist organisations by both the US and the United Nations and their operations have been banned.
Talha Saeed had contested the 2024 Pakistani general elections from Lahore’s NA-122 constituency. He fought the election on behalf of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), a political party which is supported by his father Hafiz Saeed.
However, Saeed was humiliatingly defeated in the elections with only 2,041 votes.
