Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex edged up by 10 points, closing at 79,496, while the Nifty slipped 7 points to settle at 24,141. Despite an early recovery, the markets failed to hold on to their gains by the close. Financial stocks provided support to the indices, with the Nifty Bank advancing 316 points to 51,877. However, the Midcap index took a hit, losing 498 points to close at 55,854, reflecting weaker sentiment in that segment.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The stock market saw little change today. Asian Paints was the biggest drag on the Nifty, sliding 8% after a weak second-quarter performance. Britannia also saw a dip of 5% as investors were cautious ahead of its results. Meanwhile, Trent added nearly 3% on the back of a favourable note from brokers, showing resilience amid the day’s fluctuations.
UPL presented a mixed earnings report, causing its stock to close 7% lower, while Tata Motors managed to gain from its opening lows, buoyed by a positive outlook for the company. Aarti Industries, however, faced a setback, falling up to 10% after the company revised its FY25 EBITDA outlook downward.
