It was supposed to be a serious press conference about Ukraine. Instead, it turned into another viral Trump moment. With cameras rolling live, US President Donald Trump dropped an F-bomb during a high-stakes meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on Friday.
The expletive came when a reporter asked Trump about Venezuelan President Nicols Maduro and reports that Caracas had offered a plan rejected by Washington.
“He’s offered everything,” Trump said, pausing briefly before adding with a smirk, “Because he doesn’t want to f*** around with the United States.”
The remark drew audible gasps in the briefing room. Moments later, Trump wrapped up the press conference, saying only, “Thank you, everybody,” as aides shuffled reporters out.
Trump also used the same session to confirm that the US military had attacked a drug-carrying submarine in the Caribbean. “We attacked a submarine — and that was a drug-carrying submarine built specifically for the transportation of massive amounts of drugs,” he said, standing beside Zelenskyy.
The combination of an off-script swear and a surprise military disclosure made the event quintessentially Trump: half policy briefing, half reality show.
NOT THE FIRST F-BOMB — And LIKELY NOT THE LAST
Friday’s slip wasn’t new territory for Trump, who has a long history of swearing in public.
In June, when asked about renewed clashes between Israel and Iran despite a ceasefire, he said the two countries had “been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing.”
According to The New York Times, Trump used profanity publicly more than 1,700 times in 2024, often during rallies or off-the-cuff exchanges with reporters.
Even before his presidency, Trump leaned into his brash rhetoric. During his 2016 campaign, he told supporters in New Hampshire, “We’re gonna have businesses that used to be in New Hampshire that are now in Mexico. Come back to New Hampshire, and you can tell them to go f*** themselves.”
