A video circulating online shows what appears to be a US Tomahawk cruise missile striking near a girls’ school in southern Iran, where at least 175 students and staff were killed last month, according to a report by The Washington Post. US-Israel-Iran War LIVE

The footage, which began circulating on Sunday and was verified by The Washington Post, shows a missile hitting a building inside a walled compound adjacent to Shajarah Tayyiba Primary School in Minab. Eight munitions experts cited by The Washington Post said the weapon seen in the clip appears to be a US-made Tomahawk missile.

News18, however, could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

Iranian authorities have said at least 175 people were killed in the February 28 strike on the school, describing it as one of the deadliest civilian attacks in the weeklong conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. However, The Washington Post reported that it has not independently verified the casualty figures.

A separate seven-second video released by Iranian state news agency Mehr shows what appears to be a cruise missile slamming into a structure inside the compound, likely a health clinic located within what was once an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval base. Smoke can be seen rising from another part of the compound where the school was located, suggesting the strike occurred shortly after the school was hit.

The Tomahawk is a long-range cruise missile that can be launched from US Navy ships or submarines. The US military is the only party in the current conflict known to possess the missile.

On Saturday, President Trump told reporters that the strike on the school “was done by Iran." Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, speaking alongside Trump, said, “We’re certainly investigating, but the only side that targets civilians is Iran."

The Washington Post said the footage adds to growing indications of possible US involvement in the February 28 strike, though US officials have denied responsibility.
