WhatsApp users in India have faced a major outage on Monday as both the web and mobile app have been unresponsive for many users in the country. The messaging app is heavily relied on for sending chats, getting the good morning messages and even sharing videos. So, when an outage hits a platform like that, disruption is widespread and people wait for the service to come back online.

The outage has been confirmed by the heavy spike in reports on Downdetector.in which allows people to report service outages and even shows the scale of the issue faced by the consumers.

WhatsApp Outage Hits Users

The outage tracker also mentions that the majority of the reports have come for the WhatsApp web version, with over 59 percent and the mobile app was not working for around 32 percent. Taking a closer look at the affected users tells you that people in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, and Jaipur among others are on the list. Meta is yet to confirm the issue and even acknowledge the outage on Monday afternoon.
