Will fight for American democracy, freedom: Harris in 1st speech after poll loss

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Thursday conceded defeat to Republican Donald Trump in the US election but vowed to keep fighting for America's dreams, aspirations and ambitions, while addressing her supporters.

During her speech, Harris also spoke on abortion law, supporting women's individual choice and not the government's choice in the matter. She also spoke about gun violence and called for a safer atmosphere at schools and in the public sphere. Harris advocated the idea of fighting for democracy, rule of law, equal justice, and said that fundamental freedom and rights must be upheld.

Listening to their favourite leader, several of Harris's supporters in the crowd could be seen getting emotional during her speech. Had Harris won, she would have been the first woman US President.
