Six students, including an Indian, and two police officers were wounded in a stabbing attack by a 15-year-old suspect at a Russian university.

Several people, including four Indian nationals and two police officers, were injured after a teenager armed with a knife went on a stabbing spree in the foreign students’ hostel of a university in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, according to local media reports.
Preliminary reports suggested that a teenager armed with a knife entered the medical university dormitory of the State Medical University in Ufa in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic and stabbed several students there, as per the Russian Interior Ministry.
“The attacker resisted arrest, during which two police officers were stabbed. Furthermore, the suspect also inflicted bodily harm on himself," Interior Ministry spokesperson Maj General Irina Volk was quoted as saying by local media.
A telegram channel ‘112,’ quoting eyewitnesses, reported that at least one of the victims was Indian, and there were two attackers. Meanwhile, the attacker, identified as a 15-year-old man, has been admitted to a local children’s hospital in serious condition.
The Indian Embassy in Russia confirmed the incident, saying four Indian students were injured, adding that officials from counsulate in Kazan are headed to Ufa to assist the injured students. Many Indians go to Russia to study medicine.

Four students and two police officers were also admitted to a hospital. Eyewitnesses said the hostel complex was in chaos. Ren TV reported that “there was blood everywhere," airing footage that showed the wounded being taken to hospitals in ambulances. A probe has been initiated into the incident.
