India Today Group Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Aroon Purie, who was part of a roundtable to discuss the 'red line' between AI efficiency and human ethics at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, said AI is just an engine, but the driver is a human, who also has the brakes.
Speaking at a roundtable, Aroon Purie, said, "There's no doubt that the AI is, for me, is just an engine. But the driver is a human, and also has the brakes. I think the key is, in this world of abundant information, is interpretation, meaning, and ethics is what humans have to bring to the table. And I think this is where institutions are important, institutions who have been built on the old values of journalism, trust and credibility. I think that is what, in the end, has to be the end of the communication as far as journalism is concerned."
