Amazon's first Kindle with a coloured e-ink display was launched earlier in the US and some users have complaints.
The first Kindle with a coloured display offers long battery life
Amazon recently launched its first-ever Kindle e-reader Colorsoft with a coloured display that is now available in select regions. However, the company is being forced to halt shipment, and sales of the Kindle because of issues faced by many who have received their units in the past few days.
The Colorsoft Kindle version has made its way to the hands of some lucky customers, but their happiness was short lived when they seem to have noticed a yellow bar on the screen at the bottom of the coloured Kindle e-reader. Some of these users have pointed out that the issue covers around 10 percent of the Kindle’s screen, which is not a good look for the new product from Amazon.
Coloured Kindle Already Facing Issues
The company has admitted the problem exists and is reportedly looking into what has caused the yellow bar issue. However, the more crucial aspect of this development is that the Kindle Colorsoft model has seen its shipping dates altered, which suggests the company is now making sure the unshipped units are all fine and only dispatch them when they get the all clear from the testing units.
It does help that Amazon has only started selling the Kindle models in the US region for now, and a wider roll out of the product should only happen once it is confident that the issues are resolved.
So, if you have the Colorsoft unit with the screen issue, Amazon has asked these people to contact their customer service team right away. Hopefully, they can issue a replacement unit which seems to be the most likely solution to fixing the hardware problem with the Kindle e-readers.
In the other Amazon news this week, the company’s AI Alexa push seems to have slowed down, and its supposed October release is now being delayed until 2025 as per latest reports.
