White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday said that countries that have treated the US unfairly should expect tariffs on April 2. She said that her boss US President Donald Trump will unveil new tariffs on Wednesday as planned.
She said that the announcement will be made from the Rose Garden. Donald Trump has called the tariffs “Liberation Day" tariff announcement.
The event will feature members of the Trump Cabinet.
According to the White House, the plan will introduce “country-based" tariffs, with additional sectoral duties to be implemented at a later stage.
