Apple Confirms Siri AI Launch On Time, Plans For More Deals Next Year

Siri AI upgrade is widely expected but Apple could be having some concerns

Apple’s much delayed Siri AI launch is finally running on schedule, and should be rolling out for users sometime in 2026. This has been confirmed by none other than Tim Cook, CEO, Apple, was quoted in an interview recently. He pointed out that the revamped and advanced Siri version will be released next year but did not give any clear timeline to avoid further criticism.

Apple was expected to bring the new-look and working Siri with the iOS 18 update in 2024 but we’re close on the heels of 2026 now and still no sign of the assistant that was demoed along with the iPhone 16 series last year.

But Cook making this claim publicly suggests the company is finally on the right track and we should hear more about the personalised version of Siri AI model very soon. 

Siri AI Launch In 2026, More ChatGPT-Like Deals For AI? 

Apple had signed up with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT for iPhone and other devices and Cook was asked whether more deals could happen, notably with some of its biggest rivals. The Apple chief said that the company has intentions to integrate with more people over time which hints at other third-party deals that will bring more AI models to its devices. 

Google’s Gemini is heavily tipped to be in its plans for a similar ChatGPT-like integration and Apple is likely to benefit from similar offerings with other AI chatbots, including Perplexity if something can be worked out. Apple has been very clear about how these third-party AI models function within its walled garden. 

You can access the features from ChatGPT but they are sent to an external server, which Apple has no control over, and does not know how the user data is processed.

All said and done, Apple needs a strong AI reboot if it needs to expand its smart home ecosystem, which is reportedly going to be its focus in 2026 along with the foldable iPhone that multiple reports have seemingly assured of its debut in the next 10 to 12 months. We are also hoping the new Siri version gets the right support and architecture which will give ChatGPT and Gemini among others a tough fight.
