Apple launched three new Mac products in October 2024 and none of them were unveiled at a full-scale event. Instead, we got three product videos announcing the devices, and more details revealed via the website. The new M4 processor also got more variants, powering the MacBook Pros, Mac Mini and the iMac for now. Monday, October 29: M4 iMac Launched With USB C Magic Mouse

Apple started the big Mac week with the launch of the new M4-powered iMac version which is coming to various regions, including India from November. The new iMac M4 gets a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with the option of a nano-texture panel for additional cost.

The new Magic Mouse and Keyboard are finally upgrading to USB C ports, however, you still need to put the cable on the bottom side of the mouse, which has annoyed millions for years. Apple has offered a new 12MP centre stage wide camera for better video quality of meetings and the keyboard has the option of Touch ID for security with select variants.

The Apple iMac M4 model’s price in India starts from Rs 1,34,900 for the base model with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. The top-end iMac M4 model goes up to Rs 3 lakh with 32GB RAM and up to 2TB storage.

Tuesday, October 30: New-Look M4 Mac Mini

The M4 Mac Mini was the next product from Apple to roll out in October. The biggest upgrade with the M4 Mac Mini, apart from the hardware, is the compact size, making the Mini as small as the Apple TV. Apple says the M4 Mac Mini can perform 1.8x faster than the M1 variant and having Thunderbolt 5 ports offer faster data transfer speeds as well. The M4 Mac Mini can support up to 64GB memory and 8TB SSD storage based on your needs.

For connectivity, the Mac Mini has two USB C ports on the front, along with a headphone jack. At the back, you have a plethora of ports; ethernet, HDMI, Thunderbolt 4 or 5, USB 4, and DisplayPort. The Mini supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 as well.

Wednesday, October 31: Time For The M4 MacBook Pros

Apple concluded its big Mac launch event with the M4 MacBook Pro series. The M4 MacBook Pro doesn’t get a lot of design changes, and it is all about the hardware inside the machine that Apple is banking on to attract buyers. The M4 Pro and M4 Max promise faster performance and longer battery life than the previous versions.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro gets ThunderBolt 4 ports, while the 16-inch variant comes with the new ThunderBolt 5 standard.

The Apple MacBook Pro M4 comes in 14-inch and 16-inch models, with the starting price of Rs 1,69,900 and Rs 2,49,900, respectively. You can take your pick from the M4, M4 Pro or the M4 Max variants, depending on your need and budget.

That’s not all. Apple had one big surprise for all people, and good news if you have been eager to pick up the MacBook Air M2 or M3 variant with more memory. The company launched the MacBook Air M2 and M3 versions with 16GB RAM as the default RAM option for buyers, and it will be available at the same price as the 8GB RAM model in the market.

This means, the MacBook Air M2 13-inch model with 16GB RAM is priced at Rs 99,900 and you get it with 256GB SSD storage. The 13-inch M3 variant starts from Rs 1,14,900 for the 256GB model.
