Bajaj Electricals shares jump over 8% on SEAK tie-up for lighting control products

Shares of Bajaj Electricals rallied over 7% on April 16 after the company announced an exclusive collaboration with SEAK, a Slovak Republic-based manufacturer of lighting control electronics and software.

The stock climbed to an intraday high of ₹556 before closing at ₹554.95 on the BSE, up ₹41.35 or 8.05%.

The three-year agreement allows Bajaj Electricals to use SEAK’s products for resale, as well as for supply, installation, testing and commissioning (SITC) of tunnel lighting projects in India. The partnership also leaves the door open for joint work in other countries on a project-by-project basis.

“This collaboration aims to deliver intelligent and energy-efficient lighting solutions for tunnel projects, addressing the evolving needs of India’s and the region’s growing infrastructure,” the company said in a statement. Bajaj Electricals will look to combine SEAK’s technological expertise with its own execution strength in infrastructure lighting.

Exports currently account for 1.54% of Bajaj Electricals’ FY24 revenue, with a reach extending to over 40 countries.

The market responded positively to the potential boost this partnership could give to Bajaj Electricals’ infrastructure and lighting business, a key focus area for the company going forward.
