Amid uncertainty over future of millions of immigrants from various nations, including from India, residing in the United States after Trump’s new immigration order, the social media is abuzz with memes.

On the first day after assuming Presidency, Donald Trump signed an executive order in an attempt to curb the influx of immigrants in the US. This new order also restricts the immigrants’ children, who are born in America, from getting the automatic citizenship.

As per the executive order signed by the US President, a child born in the country will only be granted US citizenship if at least one parent is a US citizen, a green card holder or a member of the US military.

As Indians remain concerned over Trump’s significant move, netizens back home have various suggestions for the NRIs which they shared via memes on social media platform X.

While engaging on social media, some of them highlighted why they should come back to India, pointing to its recent development.

Many users playfully advised NRIs to come back following Trump’s order affecting US’ immigration.

Citing India’s continuous projection of growth, One of X users joked that they should return since India has UPI technology and Vande Bharat.

The user tweeted, “Dear Indian Americans, aa jao. We have UPI. Also Vande Bharat(sic)."

While another tweeted, “NRIs should come back to India in protest & contribute in Amritkaal."

An X user claimed that the first thing many NRIs did after moving to the US was giving birth to babies to secure their citizenship.

The user tweeted, “Bhakt NRI friends are not happy that Trump signed an executive order to end birthright citizenship. Ironically, the first thing they did after moving to the USA was… have babies, hoping to secure their kids’ citizenship."

A user even posted a clip from ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ movie to compare actor Shah Rukh Khan’s character, who was returned home from foreign, with the Indian immigrants in US.

The Video was posted with the caption “The preparation has started they are going to enjoy the Amritkaal."
