JD Vance had never been to the Oval Office prior to becoming the second in command to Donald Trump. His first visit to the executive office of the US President came after he took oath as the Vice President. Vance looked awestruck as he entered the Oval office, with a video capturing his reaction perfectly.
The video was shared by Speaker Mike Johnson on X, who said, “Only in America can a hardworking young man from Appalachia rise from his humble circumstances to enter the Oval for first time as VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
The video shows Trump and Vance walking towards the Oval Office, with Trump leading the way. Trump then stopped at the entry to his office and gestured for them to enter, before he made his way inside.
"Wow," Vance can be heard exclaiming as soon as he stepped inside. He looked around the room and assented, "This is incredible."
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance had huddled with Republican leaders at the White House following their oath ceremony. It was during this that JD Vance mentioned that he had never visited Oval Office before, Mike Johnson said.
“I told him and President Trump that I HAD to capture the moment on video,” Johnson added.
Vance is the US's first millennial vice president. His performance during the presidential campaign earned him Trump's praise and a special shoutout during victory speech.
Describing the 40-year-old first-term Senator as a "feisty guy" who goes up against opponents head-on, Trump had lauded Vance’s loyalty and resilience.
