An 81-year-old Canadian billionaire, Robert Miller, has been accused of sexually assaulting women when they were minors. He is also alleged to have repeatedly given underage girls money and gifts in exchange for sex between 1994 and 2016.
Miller, the founder of Future Electronics in Pointe-Claire, was included in Forbes magazine’s list of the wealthiest people in the world in 2016. At the time, he was estimated to be worth $2.7 billion, making him the wealthiest person in Quebec, Canadian outlet, The Gazette, reported.
Miller later sold Future Electronics to a Taiwan-based company in 2023 after reports of his alleged sexual assaults surfaced.
Meanwhile, on Friday, a court ordered Miller to surrender two of his million-dollar Montreal homes as part of a lawsuit filed by four of his accusers. The women, who are seeking millions of dollars in damages, alleged that they were coerced by Miller to have sex with him when they are minors in exchange for money, calling it was a “planned system of sexual exploitation," New York Post reported.
The publication also reported, citing court documents, that one victim alleged she had sex with Miller more than 30 times over two years, beginning in 1999, when she was just 14 years old.
The four women also claim that the two homes—each valued at more than $2 million—had been listed under the names of lawyers for several years, suggesting Miller may have been trying to hide his assets amid his growing legal troubles.
In a separate proposed lawsuit, Miller is accused by more than 50 women who claim he gave them money and gifts in exchange for sex between 1996 and 2006. Miller denies the allegations, which have not yet been tested in court.
Miller, who was arrested in late May on 21 charges of sexual exploitation involving 10 victims, is currently battling Parkinson’s disease. His lawyer stated last month that his health is “quite frail" and that he is bedridden.
