China Tests 6th Generation Stealth Fighter Jet, Videos Take Social Media By Surprise

A fifth-generation J-20S was flying along with the sixth-generation stealth fighter jet, China defence observers on social media said.

A video of a new Chinese stealth fighter jet, suspected to be a 6th-generation strike aircraft, has surfaced on social media. The tail-less design suggests it is a highly capable aircraft with advanced technology. Reports by defence observers say that China may have two such jets.

Defence and global affairs website Eurasian Times said in its report that the flight is reported to have occurred over Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, and is believed to have been conducted by Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC).

A J-20 fighter accompanying the new jet is speculated to have served as a “chase plane" during the test.

The report also said the timing of the unveiling is significant as it aligns with the birthday of Chairman Mao Zedong, the founder of the People’s Republic of China.

This new stealth aircraft marks another milestone for China’s advancing aviation sector as just last month, at the Zhuhai Airshow, China showcased the J-35A fifth-generation fighter jet and the J-15T fighter.

Citing military analysts and observers, including Chinese Army observer Rick Joe, the Eurasian Times in its report said the aircraft features three engines—two located at the bottom of the fuselage and one placed on top, with an intake above the engine in the center.

Observers said that despite its three-engine configuration, the aircraft is expected to have substantial internal space to accommodate various payloads or advanced technological systems.
