US President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that a new deal with China is “done," pending final approval from Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the agreement includes full supplies of rare earth materials and magnets from China. The issue of rare earth exports was a key sticking point in negotiations in London, several news media outlets reported.
