'If Ever You Want To Talk To Daddy…': Erika Kirk On Daughter Asking About Father Charlie Kirk

Erika Kirk shared how their 3-year-old daughter keeps asking about her late father Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last month.

Erika Kirk, wife of assassinated conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, recounted the heartbreaking conversations she has had with their 3-year-old daughter since her husband’s death.

She told their daughter that her late father was on his “work trip with Jesus."

Speaking to Jesse Watters of Fox News in her first interview since the assassination, Erika revealed that their daughter continues to ask questions about her father, who was fatally shot during a college discussion event at Utah Valley University last month.

“You told your children that Charlie was going on a work trip with Jesus. Are they still asking where’s daddy?" Watters asked.

“Yes, my daughter continues to ask, but it’s really sweet, because I keep explaining to her a few things, and I said, if ever you want to talk to daddy you just look up to the sky and start talking to him, he can hear you," Kirk responded.

Charlie Kirk, who co-founded Turning Point USA, a right-wing advocacy group that backed US President Donald Trump in the 2024 elections, was allegedly fatally shot by Tyler Robinson.

“And I told her, I said, ‘you know daddy, daddy is in heaven.’ She goes: ‘Do you think I could go sometime?’ I said: ‘Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day,’" Erika added, holding back tears, as seen in a video shared by Fox News on its X page.

Erika Lane Frantzve met Charlie Kirk in 2018, and the pair became engaged in December 2020 before marrying on May 8, 2021. They have said before media that they built a family grounded in their shared evangelical Christian faith. The couple welcomed a daughter in August 2022 and a son in May 2024 and kept their children’s names and faces out of the public eye to preserve privacy.

Charlie Kirk, co‑founder of Turning Point USA, described his daughter in June 2025 by saying: “We have a girl and a boy and it’s no one’s business what their names are or their faces."

After Charlie’s assassination on September 10, 2025 at an event in Utah, Erika was unanimously appointed CEO and Chair of the Board of Turning Point USA just days later.
