OnePlus 15 is expected to come with a new design, its own camera setup without Hasselblad and better display.

iPhone 17 gets 120Hz so OnePlus 15 will go even higher
iPhone 17 is now offering ProMotion 120Hz display which many have asked for years. But brands like OnePlus are not impressed, and they want to push the envelope further. The company’s executive has welcomed the Cupertino-based giant to finally adopt the display technology for its affordable version.
He even points out high refresh rates have been one of the most important advancements for mobile experience. Li Jie, President, OnePlus China shared this post via Weibo this week. Display refresh rates do enhance the screen experience but can going higher make it better?
OnePlus 15 Promises Higher Rates
The post from Jie feels like OnePlus teasing what’s to come, especially when he says, “will once again lead the industry," for the brand. We have plenty of phones with 144Hz display and rumours suggest the OnePlus 15 could feature a 165Hz screen when it launches in the next few months.
It will be worth looking at how OnePlus plans to lead the industry with the feature, especially since going from 120Hz to 144Hz or 165Hz is not exactly a huge upgrade. But we are keen to see how it is optimised on the device.
The OnePlus 13 successor could feature a fresh design, which feels overdue by now, and some intriguing plans in place for its imaging tech on the flagship devices. The design change has been revealed with latest OnePlus 15 leaks which shows the brand going for a square camera module.
The company is likely to adopt the silicon carbon tech once again which should allow them to offer a 7,000mAh or higher battery unit with the device. It is bringing in-house camera tech this year, ditching the Hasselblad partnership. This means, the low light photography could see changes, and other aspects like colour tuning being focused around its hardware.
OnePlus 15 should be using the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC which should be announced soon.
