Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif wished China a happy Chinese New Year 2026, reaffirming the Pakistan-China iron brotherhood and hopes for deeper cooperation.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday conveyed warm wishes to China and Chinese communities worldwide on the occasion of the Chinese New Year 2026, marking the beginning of the Year of the Horse.
In a message shared publicly, he shared greetings to President Xi Jinping and the people of China, highlighting the cultural importance of the festival and its global celebration.
In the message, Sharif noted that the Horse represents qualities such as energy, resilience and speed, describing them as values that reflect the spirit of cooperation between the two nations.
“The Horse symbolizes energy, resilience and speed—values that resonate deeply with our shared journey."
Emphasis On Bilateral Ties
The Pakistani PM also reaffirmed its close relationship with China, often described by both countries as an “iron brotherhood." The statement referred to their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and a shared focus on peace, development, and regional connectivity.
“Pakistan and China are iron brothers, bound by an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and a shared vision of peace, development and regional connectivity. May this new year further strengthen our enduring friendship and deepen our cooperation for the prosperity of our two peoples," he said in the official statement.

He further also expressed hope that the new year would further strengthen cooperation and bring prosperity to both peoples.
