Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, lifted the temporary restrictions on four airports of Moscow after it closed down those airports along with one in Kaluga on Thursday without giving a clear reason behind the move, news agency Reuters said.
“Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport services have taken all necessary measures to ensure flight safety – this is the main priority," the statement from Rosaviatsia said.
It also said that the reason for the closure was to ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights.
The shutting down of the airports comes shortly after Russia accused the Ukrainian security services of instigating a spate of 55 arson and bomb attacks on banks, post offices and police cars across the country.
The interior ministry said in a statement that 44 suspects had been arrested, many of them elderly people and minors “looking for easy money".
It also said that it foiled several plots by Ukrainian intelligence services to kill high-ranking Russian officers and their families in Moscow using bombs disguised as power banks or document folders.
“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has prevented a series of assassination attempts on high-ranking military personnel of the Defence Ministry," the FSB said.
“Four Russian citizens involved in the preparation of these attacks have been detained," it said in a statement.
Russia is also facing allegations that one of its air-defence systems may have been responsible for the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger jet crash.
The flight that crashed in Kazakhstan on Wednesday killing 38 people was downed by a Russian air defence system, four sources in Azerbaijan with knowledge of the investigation told Reuters.
