Democrats protest as Donald Trump delivers first speech to Congress
Democrats held up placards as United States President Donald Trump addressed his first address to Congress since he returned to power for a second term.
Some Democrats are holding black signs that say ‘Save Medicaid’, ‘Protect veterans’ and ‘Musk steals’. Notably, Elon Musk is heading Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump administration.

Some of them raised the ‘False’ placard to highlight Trump’s “misleading” statements as he continued to speak about how he has done more work in 43 days than the previous government did in four years.
While addressing the gathering, Trump claimed Joe Biden’s policies “drove up energy prices, pushed up grocery costs, and drove the necessities of life out of reach for millions and millions of Americans.”
“As president, I’m fighting every day to reverse this damage and make America affordable again,” he added.
Meanwhile, Representative Al Green, a Democrat of Texas, was escorted out of the House chamber after interrupting Donald Trump‘s address by saying, “You don’t have a mandate.”
Democrats, for just this one night, why don't you join us in celebrating so many incredible wins for America? And if you love our nation, then let's work together and truly make America great again,” Trump said as Democrats protested.
