PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Israel, starting Wednesday. According to the govt, the visit will reaffirm the long-standing strategic bond between the two nations.

PM Modi Israel Visit Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Israel for a two-day visit at the invitation of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The central government has asserted that it will reaffirm the deep and long-standing strategic bond between the two nations and present an opportunity to review common challenges.
During his visit, PM Modi will also visit a technology and innovation exhibit later in the evening, i.e., around 9:55 P.M., before joining Netanyahu for a private dinner.
On Thursday, PM Modi will pay a visit to Yad Vashem at 12:15 P.M. — Israel’s official memorial, established in 1953, to commemorate the six million Jews murdered by Nazis. Following this, he is scheduled to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog for bilateral engagements.
Later in the day, the two Prime Ministers will meet for delegation-level talks at around 2:40 P.M. before the release of MoU exchange and joint press statements.
At 4 P.M., PM Modi will hold interaction with the Indian diaspora in Israel, followed by his departure for Delhi at 5:50 P.M.
UPGRADED SECURITY PACT ON AGENDA
An upgraded security pact is likely among the key agendas that will dominate the Prime Minister’s visit to Israel. In addition, the two countries are also likely to sign a free trade agreement later this year.
“The two leaders will review the significant progress made in the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and discuss further opportunities in various areas of cooperation, including science and technology, innovation, defence and security, agriculture, water management, trade and economy, and people-to-people exchanges,” said the government in a statement.
