PM Modi, US President Donald Trump Discussed Arranging Early Visit Over Phone Call: MEA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a telephonic conversation, with both sides working towards an early visit, government officials confirmed on Friday.
The External Affairs Ministry during its weekly press briefing said that discussions are underway to schedule the visit at the earliest while specific dates are still being finalised.
“Prime Minister Modi and President Trump had (a) telephonic conversation some days back. Recently, the two sides are working on an early visit of the Prime Minister to the United States to further deepen India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic partnership and specific dates for this visit are still being worked out and will be announced at the appropriate time," ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
The US President earlier this week said that Prime Minister Modi will visit the US next month.
Both leaders spoke for the first time following the reelection of the Republican on Monday.
“I had a long talk with him this morning and he’s going to be coming to the White House next month, probably in February. We have a very good relationship with India," Trump told reporters.
Trump also told reporters that PM Modi “will do what’s right" when it comes to taking back Indian immigrants who came to the US illegally.
PM Modi said he exchanged views on pressing global issues, including the situation in West Asia and Ukraine, and reiterated commitment to work together to promote global peace, in his call with Donald Trump.
“Delighted to speak with my dear friend President Donald Trump. Congratulated him on his historic second term. We are committed to a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership. We will work together for the welfare of our people and towards global peace, prosperity, and security," said PM Modi in an X post.
